Week 4 Love That Draws Near

Advent love is not passive—it moves toward us.

This is the heart of Week 4.

Not that we have climbed our way up to God, but that God reaches down all the way to us.

Isaiah gives us the beautiful promise of a child named Immanuel.

Matthew tells us this promise was fulfilled in the Lord Jesus—

He wasn’t just a sign from God,

but He is God-with-us right now.

And this is the miracle:

God draws near to us not because we are ready and so great, but because He is loving.

Advent reminds us that God’s love has always been making its way toward us—moving like a golden thread, woven through the long story of Scripture, moving into the quiet places in our hearts. When we turn and open to His love, Jesus moves into the very core of our lives.

This week, consider:

Where do I need to stop and remember God is with me?

Where can I make room for His love to draw near again?

God’s love is not far off.

It is closer than we think.

It is with us, for us, and among us—right here, right now. Emmanuel.
