Week 2 Prepare for Peace

In Isaiah, God brings comfort to weary hearts, reminding us that He comes gently.

In Psalm 85, He speaks peace and faithfulness to His people.

Peter tells us that God is patient with us, longing for us to turn toward Him.

And in Mark’s Gospel, John the Baptist becomes the “voice in the wilderness,” calling us to repentance and hope.

Advent preparation isn’t about doing more—it’s about making room.

God is the One who lifts our valleys, smooths our rough places, and meets us in our need. John’s message shows us that repentance isn’t about shame; it’s about clearing space for Christ’s presence.

Ask yourself this week:

What is crowding out space for Christ in my life?

Where is God inviting me to make a straight path for Him?

Lectio Divina — Isaiah 40:3

“A voice cries out in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of the Lord.’”

Light the second Advent candle and pray:

“Lord, prepare my heart for Your coming.”

Prayer for Your Week

Lord, prepare the way in me.

Smooth the rough places in my heart.

Clear out distractions and soften what feels hardened.

Bring comfort where I feel loss and courage where I feel uncertain.

Make room in me for Your peace, Your presence, and Your steadying hope.

Amen.
