A Name for the New Year
Transcription: On this day, as we begin to turn the page on our calendar and look to the new year, I have one more name for you that I want us to focus on. It's from Revelation 19.
Let me start reading a verse before, starting in verse eleven:
"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse. And He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True." You see, we haven't even begun to plumb the depths of the names of Jesus. Here are two more names — Faithful and True.
"In righteousness, He judges and wages war. And His eyes are a flame of fire, and upon His head are many diadems, many crowns."
And He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. Do you hear that? There is a name for Jesus that we don't even know. No one knows except for Himself.
I just want to leave that with us this year. Because the thought is that God is so rich and so deep, and there is always more to Him. There's always more. He will take each of us deeper this year, into more intimacy with Him, to draw us closer so that we can know Him more fully. So that we can know Him by all of His many names, even the names we have yet to be introduced to.
Thank you, Lord, that You will do that this year. Draw each one of us closer into Your heart as we walk into this next year. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
